There are two issues to consider when commencing a divorce. These are the divorce suit itself and the appropriate grounds for divorce, together with distributing the joint assets and finances relating to the marriage. Alongside advising you as the divorce suit, we will also advise you on and assist you in achieving an agreement relating to the finances to the marriage.

Where parties are separating, there are often complex legal and financial issues to be resolved such as the retention or sale of a family home, the distribution of assets, payment of debts, maintenance and loss of pension rights. Our approach in the first instance is to attempt to resolve the dispute by agreement, whether through negotiations or mediation. In appropriate cases, we will deal with the matter through the courts.
